Speedway, Ind. (May 8, 2019) – Belardi Auto Racing will be kicking off the month of May this weekend on the 2.439 mile road course located inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Both Zachary Claman and series rookie Lucas Kohl will be taking to the track on May ninth for Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires testing.
After a disappointing run at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas back in March, Zachary Claman is ready to get back to work this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and make up the 16 points that separate him from series-points leader Askew.
“I’m excited to get back to work, and just get back in a racecar. It feels like it has been so long since COTA, which left a bitter taste in my mouth. I’ve still got the same hunger to win that I had at the start of the season, and I am ready to do that once again at the biggest stage in racing,” said Zachary Claman.
A tough start of the season for series rookie Lucas Kohl has not deterred the young man from Brazil in the slightest. Kohl is excited for the opportunity at hand in returning to a track that he is familiar with and succeeded at in the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires Championship.
“I’m excited to get back to Indy and hopefully bring home a good result for myself and Belardi Auto Racing. A good result is very possible this weekend because I have raced here before, and I have tested an Indy Lights car on this track with Belardi during the Chris Griffis Memorial Test,” said Lucas Kohl.
Testing and practice for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis kicks off on May ninth with testing beginning at 10:10am. Qualifying for race No. one goes green on May tenth at 10:10am followed by race No. one at 1:30pm. Saturday sees Indy Lights on track twice more with qualifying at 8:30am and race No. two at 1:15pm.
