Brownsburg, IN (August 23, 2018) – After a few week hiatus for the Belardi Auto Racing team, the entire team is ready to get back to work this weekend at the Gateway Motorsports Park.
After a tough weekend spent at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the team and drivers; Aaron Telitz and Santiago Urrutia, are ready for a change of pace. Getting back to the oval tracks with the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires is just the change the team needed.
For Santiago Urrutia, heading back to Gateway is a welcome challenge, returning to the Gateway Motorsports Park as the defending race winner. Staring 2nd in last year’s race, Santi was able to work his way around the 1st place car of Juan Piedrahita and run away with the victory.
“I can’t wait to get to Gateway and start the weekend. We are always competitive on ovals and winning last year gives me all the confidence in the world heading into this weekend. My engineer Tim Neff and I have been working hard in this downtime and I really feel like we will have a car that goes to the front all weekend long!” – Santiago Urrutia
Aaron Telitz did not have the showing that he had hoped for last year, but is ready to tackle the 1.25-mile oval. The break in the action came at a great time for the Wisconsin native, as he was able to relax and re-focus for the final stretch of races.
“I’m excited to get back on an oval and show the hard work that all of the guys on the Belardi Auto Racing team have put in during this break. As I have said all season, all we are shooting for is wins. Gateway is a fast and fun track and I am ready to get the weekend started and take the No. 9 car to the front.” – Aaron Telitz
Practice kicks off the weekend for the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires championship on Friday, August 24th. Catch all the action by using the Road to Indy TV app and by following @BelardiRacing on social media!
