Brownsburg, Ind. (March 19, 2019) – After a strong start to the 2019 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires championship in St. Petersburg, Belardi Auto Racing along with its three drivers is looking to carry the their momentum to the inaugural Cooper Tires Indy Lights Grand Prix Presented by Allied Building Products.
After a tremendous showing on the Streets of St. Petersburg including a pole position and a win, Zachary Claman is coming into the weekend with the points lead (nine points over second place) and his confidence at an all-time high.
“Super excited to head to COTA, for me the focus is the same as the first race weekend, and that is to win races. I can’t wait to get the race weekend underway, and seeing how we stack up at a new track for us!” – Zachary Claman
Frenchman Julien Falchero heads into the COTA weekend excited to get back to a track that is more familiar to his style coming from the European open-wheel ranks. St. Petersburg was a large learning weekend for Falchero, who comes into the weekend currently sixth in points, 27 points out of first place.
“My goal this weekend is to fight for a victory. I know the track and I like it. During the pre-season test, I had really good rhythm, so I am expecting to be quick and expect to be fighting for good results all weekend long.” – Julien Falchero
Brazilian-born Lucas Kohl is excited to continue the learning that took place in St. Petersburg and hopefully carry his new found knowledge and move up further on the grid. Making the jump from the Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires championship proved to be a difficult challenge in St. Petersburg, but Kohl knows that his veteran teammate and veteran crew will do all they can to help shrink his learning curve.
I am looking forward to being back at COTA. My goal is to keep improving, and learning as much as I can. Now that I have experience of a race weekend behind me, I feel that I can really start pushing harder and get better results as I know more of what to expect from each session.” – Lucas Kohl
