Brownsburg, IN (July 24, 2018) – Rounding out the busiest month of the year for the Belardi Auto Racing team is the fast and windy 2.258-mile natural road course nestled in the heart of the Midwest.
Coming off an impressive weekend in Toronto that included a pole position, a 2nd and a race No. 2 victory, Santiago Urrutia is heading to one of his favorite tracks on the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires schedule.
Last year at Mid-Ohio was an impressive showing for the young Uruguayan, earning a win in race No. 1 and a 2nd in race No. 2. Santiago currently sits 3rd 40 points out of first place, but with the new found momentum he is looking to strike this weekend and battle for the top spot in the championship.
“I am really looking forward to coming to Mid-Ohio this weekend, it’s a track I have won on and feel confident on. The win at Toronto was huge for us, so heading into Mid-Ohio, a track that I have always been competitive on has come at a perfect time for us with the points the way they are. I am going to give it all I have this weekend to walk out of here with 2 wins.” – Santiago Urrutia
Also riding the momentum is Urrutia’s Belardi Auto Racing teammate, Aaron Telitz. Telitz is coming off of another podium finish in race No. 2 in Toronto. Mid-Ohio is a track Telitz feels comfortable on and feels that he and his No. 9 team have a great shot at winning on.
“Toronto was great for the entire Belardi Auto Racing team and like Santi I love Mid-Ohio. We know that we have amazingly fast and consistent cars here, so this weekend should be a blast. My goal as it has been all season is to just go out and compete for race wins and this is a track I feel I can especially do that at.” – Aaron Telitz
Starting mid pack last year, Telitz was able to smartly maneuver his way towards the front of the field in both races to finish a strong 8th and 5th place finishes. Heading into this weekend, Telitz is wanting to improve on these results and knows a big key to doing that is his qualifying setup and working with engineers Kent Boyer and Tim Neff along with his teammate Urrutia. Telitz believes this could be the weekend he breaks through and scores his 1st win of the season.
The #IndyMO weekend kicks off with practice and qualifying on Friday July 27th, followed by qualifying 2 and race 1 on Saturday, with race No. 2 being held on Sunday.
