Brownsburg, Ind. (February 4, 2019) – Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires veteran Lucas Kohl will be joining Belardi Auto Racing for the entirety of the 2019 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires championship, in the team’s second of three cars.
After spending three seasons in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, Kohl knows that he has a steep learning curve ahead of him as he makes the jump to the top step of the Road to Indy ladder, but is excited for the challenge ahead.

The 20-year-old Brazilian born driver had an impressive 2018 campaign racking up 11 top 10 finishes, 4 podium finishes and a highest finishing position of second at Mid-Ohio.
Kohl was able to join Belardi Auto Racing for the annual Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After the two-day test session team owner Brian Belardi knew that he wanted Kohl to pilot one of the teams Indy Lights machines.
