Speedway, IN (March 23, 2018) – Aaron Telitz had the chance today to get his first taste what a Verizon IndyCar Series racecar is all about. Making his debut on the 2.439-mile road course, Telitz was given the opportunity to pilot the number 5 Arrow Electronics car for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.
“It was an absolute blast out there. A huge thanks to Schmidt Peterson Motorsports for trusting me with their car and James for letting me borrow his suit, too.”
Being put through his paces by the SPM engineering staff, Aaron handled all they threw at him like an old pro after running a shortened testing schedule due to the frigid Indianapolis temperatures. The harsh weather did not dampen Aaron’s spirits about the new adventure in the slightest bit.
“The car is awesome. I thought everything about it was fun. I loved the power, the big tires that have so much grip, the carbon brakes. It was all stuff I had to get used to, but I really enjoyed it. It will take a little time to digest, but my first reaction was (it was) a pile of fun.”
Aaron and his Belardi Auto Racing crew along with teammate Santiago Urrutia will be back on track next at Barber Motorsports Park for rounds 3 and 4 on April 20th through the 22nd.
